A Birding Lodge in the heart of the megadiverse Ibera Wetlands
We are a small natural wildlife reserve, in the Iberá Wetlands, North-East Argentina. Our reserve protects native forests and grasslands, and all its fauna with around 300 bird species, and is free of domestic animals.
We border the Ibera Park (1.3 million hectares) on the outskirts of the picturesque town of Loreto, of notable natural and historical-cultural value. We have a small pond where we start with a wildlife rescue center, and we have applied all the knowledge of sustainable development in our project as members of the Argentine Private Reserves Network.
We really love sharing this hotspot of megadiversity with each of the visitors who come from all over the world to have an immersive experience in Nature.
Our Team
A team of people works at Iberá Birding Lodge that includes experts in different areas of environmental issues and local people who are integrated as an essential part of the project.
This integration into the community is a highlight of the project, both in daily tasks and in work with schools and neighbors.
Led by Horacio Matarasso, a biologist specialized in Ecology and birder, we apply more than 30 years of experience in Conservation Projects.

In our reserve we have a Guest House, where you can enjoy our reserve and activities in Loreto and Iberá Park and its surroundings.
Our House offers adults-only accommodation, with a garden and barbecue facilities. The rooms are equipped with WiFi and air conditioning. It has a private bathroom and free toiletries. We also include breakfast (vegetarian or vegan are available).
The external gallery is the perfect place to sit and have a tea or a drink and be surprised by the wild birds that come to the feeders and waterers.
We have applied all the knowledge of sustainable development with climate construction, solar energy, waste recycling and the ecological vegetable garden.
